Giving a Reiki Treatment

Notes on how to apply a reiki treatment

Make sure the room you use is conducive to relaxation, i.e. gentle lighting, soft relaxing music, incense etc. Take the phone off the hook and avoid any distractions - you should not leave the client once you have begun the treatment. Ensure you have a comfortable table or massage couch for the client which needs to be at the right height for your comfort - the last thing you need is to injure yourself whilst healing someone.

Talk to the client - it is very important to explain clearly what Reiki is, what you a re going to do and how or what they might experience. As you begin with the eyes and conclude with the feet, it is important to wash your hands before and after every treatment.

A brief explanation of the Reiki Attunement process

*Reiki Attunement*

Reiki is not "taught" in the same way that most practices are. You must go through an ancient and precise attunement process performed by a Reiki Master.

This attunement changes the vibrational level of you and your aura by "re-wiring" the subtle energy channels in our finer bodies through transmission of Ki energy and the use of sacred symbols. The process opens the crown, heart and palm Chakras, energy flows down through the crown, down the spine, and into the palms of the hands. Specific Reiki symbols are placed into the crown and palrn Chakras and the whole process is precisely sealed. The procedure is performed by the Reiki Master but controlled by the Universal Wisdom and attended and guided by astral Reiki Guides. Different people have different experiences during attunements and there is no way of describing the experience. It can be a powerful spiritual experience but is always a wonderful life- healing process.

Using Reiki

An introduction to using Reiki

Reiki is a very simple technique to learn and use. It is not a form of psychic healing as it flows through the healer and not from the healer, therefore there is no great effort of will involved and it is not subject to the physical or psychological condition of the healer. Accordingly, Reiki cannot be influenced by negativity and no negative vibrations or energies can be passed to the aura or energy body of either healer or the recipient.

The History of Reiki

An insight into the History of Reiki and its founder, Dr Mikao Usui

Reiki is older than any written account, but the modern story of Reiki begins in the mid 1800's with Dr. Mikao Usui in Kyoto, Japan. Dr. Usui was searching for the skil of healing. He could not find any answers in Japan so travelled to the USA where he studied Theology at the University of Chicago. During this time he found no real answers to his questions, the bishops he approached only stating that religion heals the spirit, not the body.
